Before I start into what I'm going to say. I have uploaded several photos to accompany this journal. I will list a link to each of the photos at the end of this journal. They seem to speak better than the words I'm about to write ever could. This past week, we held a memorial service for our Battalion's second fallen brother. On July 1st, 2005, SPC Derrick J. Lutters, Alpha Company - 891st Engineer Battalion, was convoying along MSR Tampa in Iraq when the vehicle he was riding in was attacked by a Vehicle Borne Improvised Explosive Device, instantly killing him and injuring three other soldiers. The biggest event on that trip was almost hitting these donkeys that were in the middle of the road. Oh

I'm so glad I stumbled onto your page, I'm glad you're doing this, I have a former son-in-law over there in the Marines and can hardly wait until the day you can all come home safe to be with your familes again. In the meantime know that people back home do support you the troops , Thank You.
Fasinating gallery you have, keep the photos coming and be safe over there :)
fascinating to get first hand accounts and pics. thanks so much!
Thanx--- We are coping as you are w/ your G/f  I know it's just as tough for the 2 of you! Hang in there and before you know it you'll be there for 2 week R&R and spoil eachother as much as possible! (thats what we did)
I'd like to say it will be over before we know it which it will, but some days feels like eternity!! I won't forget our R&R we took off alone to Maui for 2 days stayed in a resort it was awesome and quiet!! Nice to meet you and G/F!!
